Take Apart

Why it's important:

By taking apart an object or system, students understand how things fit together and work as a unit. Taking  apart an object requires students to slow down and look beyond the obvious features. Using strategies like thinking maps, making lists, and drawing designs, provide opportunities for thinking to become visible.

How can we do this at home?

Try taking apart some old toys, or looking at how something works!
